ROCHEM® UF/MF/NF Module

MODULE DESCRIPTION

ROCHEM® UF/MF/NF modules have been developed especially for the separation of bacteria, viruses and fine solids from water and waste water with a high fouling potential.

It can include a variety of membranes for ultrafiltration (UF), microfiltration (MF) and nanofiltration (NF). Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration are based on porous membranes.

Most importantly, modules exhibit low specific energy consumption at high and steady-state fluxes. The UF/MF/NF Module excels in dealing with difficult to treat, high concentrations such as: rejection of ro system

  • Treatment of biological effluents
  • Chemical waste water treatment
  • Grey water treatment
  • Classic water treatment on ships
  • Separation of emulsions

The ultrafiltration membranes forms an absolute barrier for bacteria and viruses. It is ideal for feed flows that have higher suspended solids and uses a 3mm spacer in the membrane cushion to eliminate clogging.

Particles larger than the pore size of the membranes are rejected. In practice even smaller particles are rejected because of the selectivity of the filter cake (gel layer) on the membrane surface. A gel layer can not be avoided in dead-end operation and is observed in most cross flow applications. Ultrafiltration membranes form an absolute barrier for bacteria and viruses.

Applications:

  • Chemical waste water treatment
  • Grey water treatment
  • Classic water treatment on ships
  • Separation of emulsions

Can Be Connected In Series

  • 3-10 pc can be connected in series to form one module
  • Typically 5 modules can be operated in parallel and 3 modules can be connected in series to form one
  • UF loop
  • Typically 15 pc membrane modules per UF loop
